STEVEN E. ENGEN

PRESIDENT & REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTOR, MEMBER OF THE BOARD

Mr. Engen joined Solasia in August 2007 as President. Prior to joining Solasia, He served as President & Representative Director of Mundipharma K.K. where he managed the entire company including the medical, marketing and administration divisions. In 2007, He orchestrated the Japan commercialization partnership of Mundipharma’s pain product, NorspanR (buprenorphine patch), with Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co., Inc. From 2003, he established a specialized, oncology/pain management field force to co-promote a pain product with Shionogi & Co., Ltd.. In 2004, He was elected Chairman of Pharma Delegates, an industry group comprised of over 200 members operating in Japanese and multinational pharma/biotech companies in Japan. He received his B.S. in Economics from the University of Utah and his M.B.A. from Temple University. He is fluent in written and spoken Japanese.

YOSHIHIRO ARAI

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, DEVELOPMENT

Mr. Arai joined Solasia in September 2007 with responsibility for all product development including clinical development and regulatory affairs. Prior to joining Solasia, he spent 14 years at Amgen K.K., from initial stage of the company where he led development of Amgen’s novel hematology/oncology products, built the Clinical Development Division and held numerous senior level positions. Prior to joining Amgen, He spent 9 years at Searle Yakuhin K.K. where he developed gastro intestinal, psychiatric and oncology product. He earned a B.S degree and a master’s degree in Biochemistry & Microbiology from Tokyo University of Pharmacy and a M.B.A. from the University of Wales.

YUSUKE SONEHARA

SENIOR MANAGER, CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT

Mr. Sonehara joined Solasia in October 2008 and is responsible for clinical development operations and project management for Japan. Prior to joining Solasia, he spent 10 years at Amgen K.K. where he conducted clinical programs for novel hematology and anti-inflammatory products. As senior manager at Amgen, he supervised CRAs, study managers, and CROs. Prior to joining Amgen K.K., he spent 8 years at Mochida Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. where he worked as a CRA for numerous clinical studies. He earned a Bachelor degree of Science in biology and a master’s degree in Management of Science and Technology from Tokyo University of Science.

FUMIKO NAGAHAMA

MANAGER, CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT

Ms. Nagahama joined Solasia in October 2008 and is responsible for clinical development operation and project management for Asia regions. Prior to joining Solasia Pharma K.K., She spent 12 years at Amgen K.K. and worked as Clinical Research Manager for novel hematology/oncology compounds. She also supervised several CROs and external vendors as clinical team leader. Before joining Amgen K.K. she was working as a development division staff at Roche Japan K.K. for 6 years. She earned a healthcare MBA from Graduate School of Research Institute of Health and Welfare Sciences, International University of Health and Welfare.
